Usually when I visit different running events around the world, I will definitely combine it with "SportExpo". An exhibition where you can get new information about other sports competitions held in one or another country. In October, I was lucky enough to get to Krakow for the half marathon. I can't say that I was delighted with him, even "SportExpo" was a little disappointing. However, I did not leave empty-handed, but learned about the existence of a rather interesting one running series, which unites the running events of the city of Krakow and bears the name “Royal Running Triad”.
Bit of history
The series was launched in 2016 with the support of the Committee for Sports Infrastructure of the City of Krakow (Zarząd Infrastruktury Sportowej w Krakowie (ZIS)), whose main activity is the organization of prestigious competitions in the city of Krakow. In the new series, the organizers included 3 marathon races, a 13-kilometer race and a half-marathon, namely:
- "Cracovia Marathon" - a race of 42 kilometers with a long history, which takes place every year at the end of April
- "Bieg Trzech Kopcow" - a mountain running competition held for 10 years in a row in Krakow in the month of September
- "Cracovia Polmaraton Krolewski" is a 21-kilometer race held at the end of the running season every year in October. The half marathon, unlike the marathon, is quite young. About 10 editions of it have already taken place

The first edition of the competition brought together, in addition to Polish athletes, 558 foreign athletes from 40 countries of the world. In total, more than 7,000 applications for participation were submitted.
Route
The course of all three races is PLZA certified and also passes numerous tourist attractions of the old Polish city. Each race is distinguished by high-quality organization. Numerous hydration points are provided on all routes, doctors, guards and volunteers are constantly present. Registration for the running triad takes place online on the official web page of the event. Each participant must pay a registration fee, and upon completion of the competition receives a certificate of participation and a commemorative medal. Awarding takes place in the premises of "Arena Krakow" or in the headquarters of the Sports Infrastructure Council in Krakow.
