In this article, I decided to pay attention to interesting running movementsI'd like to introduce you to the British "parkrun" movement and the Ukrainian "runday" movement. And at the same time tell you a little about them.
“Parkrun” - is an international running movement that originated in the UK. It is a 5-kilometre open run that takes place every Saturday in different countries around the world. Everyone can take part in them, regardless of age and fitness level It is absolutely free, you just need to register on the website, print your barcode, and then come and take part at one of the locations where the race takes place parkrun.
“Runday” - is a running movement that emerged in Ukraine in 2016 and is analogous to British parkrun. It was founded by two old friends lawyer Oleksandr Ruzhytskyi and Oxford-based IT specialist Ian Bearder. The first race took place on 31 July 2016 and was attended by friends of Oleksandr and Ian. Six months later, they set up a non-governmental organisation, rented an office in Podil, and hired a team of professionals.
Today, this running motion is popular not only in the capital but also throughout Ukraine. Randay has 11 running locations: two in Kyiv, and the rest in Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kolomyia, Mariupol, Kramatorsk, Sievierodonetsk and Odesa. Fans of running can join the "runday" running movement every Saturday at one of the locations. Format runday is quite simple: you need to register once on the website, print out your barcode, and then come and take part in the race at the location where the race takes place.
