Usually, the races I take part in have a certain distance. But in 2019, during the "Ltava Running Race" in Poltava, I had the opportunity to get acquainted with a new format...

Time races - another format of running competitions, where participants run for a certain amount of time. That is, the distance for each athlete can be different and is determined depending on the physical capabilities and speed of the athlete. Usually the route in such competitions is circular. The most common formats of time races are 6, 12, 24 and 48 hours.
Similar running competitions, like any other, this is an opportunity to test your own strength and endurance. However, there is one significant disadvantage of time races - since they usually take place on a circular route, running after the second lap is not so interesting and the route itself seems boring. Therefore, perhaps because of this, such competitions gather fewer participants. However, in my opinion, every lover of running should at least once in his life take part in a time race to form their own idea.
