The first edition of the Bilotserk Marathon took place during Soviet times in 1986, at the initiative of the outstanding coach Georgy Trofymenko. Then the athletes ran along a 10-kilometer circle of the central avenue of the city. After the collapse of the USSR, it is a tradition to hold sports marathon in Bila Tserkva was interrupted in 1991 and was restored only in 2008. Marathon route is a well-paved road that runs along the central boulevard of the city of Oleksandriyskyi to Nebesnaya Hundred Street. Accordingly, on the day of the competition, the movement of motor vehicles is restricted on it for the safety of the participants of the sports event. Athletes start in Oleksandriysky Park, and finish near the Ros Hotel. Thus, the route is almost circular.
